Abstract

Summary. Iason paragamiani n. sp. from Crete island (Greece) is described. A summary of the knowledge of the genus Iason Giachino & Vailati, 2011 in Crete is provided. Faunistic, phylogenetic and zoogeographic implications of this discovery are discussed. A synthesis of morphological specialization to subterranean environment by a largely endogean tribe is given.
