Mariana Past is currently working as assistant professor of Spanish at Dickinson College. She earned her MA and PhD degrees from Duke University, specializing in twentieth-century Spanish and Francophone Caribbean literature. Her current projects focus on Haitian-Dominican relations and representations of the Haitian Revolution in literary and historical texts written in Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole. She has published articles in the Revista de la Casa de las Américas, the Journal of Haitian Studies, and Del Caribe, and serves on the editorial board of Sirena: poesía, arte y crítica.
