Palladium(0)‐Catalyzed Intramolecular Annulation of Alkene: Synthesis of 3‐Methylene‐2,3‐dihyro‐1H‐cyclopenta[b] quinolin‐1‐ols

Abstract

The reaction of substituted 2‐chloro‐3‐formylquinolines with indium powder and allyl bromide yielded 2‐chloro‐3‐(1‐hydroxybut‐3‐en‐1‐yl) quinolines in good yield, which were cyclized by Pd(0)‐catalyzed intramolecular cyclization to afford 3‐methylene‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐cyclopenta[b]quinolin‐1‐ols.
