Silver-Mediated Mild Oxidation of Nitrogen-Containing Heteroaryl-2-methanols to Esters

Abstract

Oxidation of nitrogen-containing heteroaryl-2-methanols to esters with Ag2O and isopropyl iodide is reported. This methodology is very mild and can tolerate many functional groups.
