Abstract

Absorbing exudate and realizing drug - controlled release are considered to be the ideal objectives and effects of wound dressing. Therefore, multi - layer wound dressing is regarded as to be a common means for treating burns and other wounds with more exudate in skin tissue engineering. We report a unique platform based on multilayer nanofiber membrane, which can simultaneously inhibit bacterial breeding and prevent wound infection. An electrospun fiber pad containing tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) was prepared as the core layer, and a layer of polyethylene oxide (PEO)/sodium alginate (SA) nanofiber membrane was covered on the upper and lower layers. The average diameter of multilayer nanofiber membrane is 440 nm, which has good biocompatibility and excellent antibacterial effect. Due to the regular arrangement of nanofibers and more small voids, it is conducive to cell adhesion and proliferation, and the drug in the core layer of fiber membrane has a relatively long release time. Through the bacteriostatic circle experiment, it has a good effect on inhibiting the growth and invasion of bacteria.
