This richly engaging paper offers us the opportunity to closely examine the trauma of early loss, the role of adoption, countertransference variations during latency and adolescence, and to appreciate the long-erm follow-up of an analysis.

Stanley J. Leiken
Dr. Stanley Leiken, M.D. is a supervising and training analyst for adult and child analysis at the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, and is a geographic child analytic supervisor for the San Francisco, San Diego, and Seattle Psychoanalytic Institutes. He was the co-director of the child analytic program at NCP. He is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA. He maintains a private practice of adult and child psychiatry and psychoanalysis in Encino California.
