Abstract
Temperature dependence (30–550°C) of the electric permittivities of AgNbO3 single crystals and ceramics under mechanical load (0–100 MPa) has been investigated. It was shown that axial pressure strongly changes the dielectric properties. This includes the shift of phase transition temperatures and the decrease of thermal hysteresis which can be the evidence for changes of the transitions nature to that of the second order one. These effects can be connected with change in domain structure, elastic change of distances between ions and change in defects density under the action of stress.
