Abstract
Several analytical methods were evaluated for determining the concentration of N,N’,N”-tris(3,7-dimethyloctyl)guanidine (TiDG) in a cesium extraction solvent. Of the methods evaluated, non-aqueous titration and 1H NMR were shown to be successful at quantifying the amount of TiDG present in both a pure solvent extraction system, and a blended system containing an additional base, trioctylamine.
Notes
* For example, the pKa of ethylamine (primary amine) is 10.63 and the pKa of triethylamine (tertiary amine) is 10.65.
