ABSTRACT
A simple and rapid separation and preconcentration method based on precipitation combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of trace amounts of cadmium and lead ions has been introduced. Under the optimum conditions, the method exhibited linear dynamic ranges of 5–400 µg/L for cadmium and 8–500 µg/L for lead. The detection limits were 0.96 and 1.71 µg/L and the enhancement factors were 115 and 110 for cadmium and lead, respectively. The results revealed that the presented method is a good technique for the determination of target metal ions in natural water samples.
Novelty statement
The aim of this research is to apply the sensitive, simple, and rapid LLME technique based on the use of dispersive micro-solid phase extraction based on rejection property for the extraction and determination of cadmium and lead in environmental water samples. The hydrophobic property of the chelating agent was used to collect target metal ions. Also, the sediment filtration process was carried out using a cheap column. According to our searches, there is not any report of this application with this method.
