Abstract

In this narrative article Catherine (Katy) Papell recollects her 65-year relationship with social work with groups—from the social settlements of New York City, to her own social work education, to her group work practice in a psychiatric hospital, to her career as an academic and scholar, to her work in addictions after she retired from teaching.
