Abstract

A new species of phytoseiid mites (Acari: Phytoseiidae) Transeius gervasioi sp. nov. is described from the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, based on specimens collected on Cichorium intybus L. (Asteraceae) and Plantago sp. (Plantaginaceae) plants. A key to Brazilian species of the genus is provided.
