A new mite species of the genus Cenopalpus Pritchard and Baker (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) from Saudi Arabia

ABSTRACT

A new tenuipalpid mite species, Cenopalpus taifensis sp. nov. (Acari: Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae) is described and illustrated based on female and deutonymph specimens collected from Crataegus sinaica Boiss (Rosaceae) in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, a key to reported species of the genus Cenopalpus on the plant genus Crataegus is provided.
