Key findings

Data suggest many positive wellbeing benefits to use of HenPower, in terms of improved engagement, behavior and mood. This increased wellbeing was also felt in related arts-based activities, which provided engagement and meaning, and were a source of pride. Additional benefits, however, were also found in both communication between care home staff and the older people who live in the care home (in terms of increased spontaneous communication and more in-depth understanding of the older person’s personhood), and also the care home environment (in terms of engagement through changes to the home layout and use, and increased involvement of family members and the wider community).
