Abstract
Global demand for surfactants is increasing for domestic as well as industrial applications due to population growth. Laundry is the major consumer of the surfactants throughout the world. A huge quantity of wastewater is generated in laundry application, which is mainly contaminated with residual surfactants. Therefore, alleviation of quality of laundry-treated water has become important due to stringent environmental regulations. Researchers have done tremendous work to suggest various techno-economic feasible methods/techniques/processes for the removal of surfactants from laundry-treated water. The present article is an effort to review various methods suggested by the researchers for removal of surfactants from the laundry-treated water.
