ABSTRACT
This paper introduces a new reduction method for linear time-invariant continuous and discrete-time systems. The method is created considering only the effect of the dominance pole to get the reduced-order model. The denominator coefficient of reduced order model (ROM) is obtained by conserving the dominant poles of a higher order system while the numerator polynomial of the reduced model is found by comparing the original system transfer function with the transfer function of desired reduced order model. Five standard numeric examples are examined from literature considering single input single output (SISO) and discrete systems. To prove the validity, accuracy and simplicity of the proposed method, the results obtained are compared with other recent established and well-known techniques like Truncation and Routh Stability methods.

Pragati Shrivastava Deb completed her B.E in Electrical Engineering in the year 2002 from Priyadarshani college of Engineering & Architecture, Nagpur, Maharashtra, and M.E. in Electrical Power System in the year 2006 from the Government College of Engineering, Amravati, Maharashtra. She is perusing a Ph.D. in Control Systems from Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and studies, Faridabad, India. She is having a total teaching experience of 15 years. Her area of interest is control systems, model order reduction, etc. She has presented more than 20 papers in national and international conferences and published papers in national and international journals. Also she has published two patents in the year 2021.
Leena G
Leena G completed her B-Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and M-Tech in Control System in the year 1991 and 1995 respectively from the Government College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, then affiliated to the University of Kerala. She received her Ph. D in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2007. She started her teaching profession at the Vellore Engineering College (presently Vellore Institute of Technology) in 1996 and then taught for few years at the Government College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. She is with Manav Rachna since 2007 and is presently heading the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Her areas of interest are non-linear the system, intelligent control, decentralized control, sliding mode control, renewable energy systems, solid waste management, model reduction, etc. She has published more than seventy papers in national and international journals.
