Abstract

The thermal conductivity and microhardness of the high-pressure solidified Al–Si-Fe-Mg alloys can be significantly improved by a large number of solute atoms precipitated and hence released the lattice distortion after aging for 12 h. And the α-Al lattice constant does not change significantly during the aging treatment from 12 h to 24 h, indicating the alloy released less lattice distortion. The interface between the precipitated phase and the α-Al matrix gradually evolved into an incoherent relationship with the extension of aging time, which has a greater hindering effect on the thermal conductivity of the alloy, and the amount of precipitated phase will be the primary factor in decreasing the thermal conductivity of the alloy at this point.
