ABSTRACT

Magnetic nanoparticles(MNP) have been recognised in numerous fields including nanobiotechnology, biomedical engineering, sensors, EMI, waste water management etc. This review highlights the different method for synthesis of magnetic nanoparticle/composite and its characterisation. This review also highlights the different types of magnetic nanoparticle and its composite as an alternative adsorbent in wastewater treatment. The need for surface modification of nano ferrites with different surface modification methods are highlighted broadly. The general mechanism of adsorption of different types of pollutants with magnetic nanoparticles has been discussed expansively. The main drive of the review is to provide recent information about the most important features of different MNPs and their composites.
