Abstract
In this paper, we have employed a novel method to realize magnetic property from an organic polymer. An antiferromagnetic, inorganic material Cr2O3 added with a well promising Polyaniline was synthesized and the effect of Cr2O3 and its concentration on the properties of polyaniline was investigated. Cr2O3/PANi was synthesized using solution polymerization method (1, 3, 5, 10 and 15 wt% of Cr2O3). Synthesized Cr2O3/polyaniline composites were subjected to Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry, to investigate its structural and magnetic properties. The room temperature ferromagnetism was achieved in PANi with 1 wt.% of Cr2O3.
