Notes

SPARKS AND ASHES - This is a column of no more than 10 pages in length aimed at generating debate among our readers. How many of us have an idea that is not yet ready for publication as a fully-fledged scientific article per se, but that we would relish the opportunity to present and discuss? The Revue aims to provide such a forum. Once sown, who knows who will bring the seeds of an idea to fruition? In any case, we welcome your contribution on any topic likely to spark discussion. As usual we remind you that papers relating to contemporary political events will not be considered for publication. Please send your articles of no more than 10,000 characters to the following address: Mino Vianello, Via Brennero 36, 00141 Roma. Email: [email protected]

1. This note is a reply to Vianello's statement on ‘Can gender be a starting point for a re-foundation of the social sciences?’ that appeared in one of the previous issues of this journal (17.3). More specifically, it is a comment on the impact of psychoanalysis and anthropology that is at the core of Vianello's theory (Vianello and Caramazza 2006).

2. A compadrazgo (corresponding to Catholic godfather/godmother) takes upon himself/herself practical and economic tasks towards the people he/she has decided to take care of.
