Proposal for an integrative and common conceptual framework for the study of tourism attractiveness

Abstract

The literature’s depiction of tourism attractiveness as a complex system falls short of its interrelated and dynamic reality. As a result, the current literature is examined in order to build an integrative and common conceptual framework based on a systemic conceptual approach. The proposed perspective is an epistemological inquiry that promotes a constructivist method to analyzing researchers’ discourse. On the one hand, a thematic analysis is developed to bring out the relevant themes of a corpus; on the other hand, a “conceptualizing categories” analysis is developed to offer the first elements of theorizing a phenomenon.
