Mario Vargas Llosa
Mario Vargas Llosa (Arequipa, Peru, 1936) won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2010. From his first novel, The Time of the Hero (1963), he has been a leading figure in Latin American letters. His many novels include Conversation in the Cathedral (1969), The Feast of the Goat (2000), and Tiempos recios (2019; Fierce Times). Among his works of nonfiction, most recently he published his intellectual autobiography, La llamada del tribu (2018; The Call of the Tribe).
