Abstract
The changes in situ in Raman spectra of ice in aqueous KOH solution as a function of pressure at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K) have been examined. The possibility that the ice in aqueous KOH directly transforms to the low-temperature ice IX phase at around 1 GPa, not via high-density amorphous ice, is shown. Also, it is reported that the results show differences strongly depend on the salts dissolved in the aqueous solutions.
