Abstract

This paper introduces a new fast method for the analysis of small antennas with catenary elements such as LF transmitter antennas. While many proposed antenna structures in this area are based on the hanging wires that conforms the catenary curve, this method is valuable for these antennas. The speed of the convergence of structural equations is important for optimization of these antennas, since the process can be extremely time consuming. As an example, this method has been applied to optimization of the radiation resistance of Sectionalized Loran Transmitter antenna. Final results are validated using scaled model full-wave simulation and fabrication.
