ABSTRACT
In this paper, a multilayer MoS2 frequency tripler (MFT) and a graphene frequency tripler (GFT) are presented. The multilayer MoS2 and graphene have strong nonlinear characteristics. When the input power is about 14 dBm and the input frequency is 0.75–1.1 GHz, the maximum out power of the 3rd harmonic wave of the MFT is −27.1 dBm and it is about 9–13 dB lower than that of the fundamental wave leakage power. Under the same experimental conditions, the maximum output power of the 3rd harmonic wave of the GFT is −13.1dBm, and it is 22–28 dB lower than the fundamental leakage power. At the same time, the even-order harmonic output power values of the two triplers are very small. Therefore, the MFT’s fundamental-wave-leakage power is smaller than that of the GFT, and the conversion loss of the GFT is lower than that of the MFT.
