ABSTRACT
The study presents the off-the-axis theory of the moiré patterns in a double-layered (coaxial) cylinder. The theory is based on the projected period and confirmed by the experiments with two devices. The results can be applied to moiré measurements, nanoparticles, and visual displays, particularly, to minimization of the moiré effect in curved/flexible displays (including 3D autostereoscopic displays).
