Task name	Task overview
Guided tour of Viseu	In order for students to decide on the subject of their photograph, they were provided with the necessary information about the city of Viseu and its main tourist attractions. This guided tour was led by a tourism professional from the Viseu City Hall tourism department.
Photography workshop	Students were introduced to the aesthetics and semiotics of photography by studying composition that enhances the importance of communication in the relationship between tourists and destinations.
Storytelling based on a painting	This task involved introducing students to the topic of storytelling in general, giving them the language needed, lexical items and grammatical structures, to carry out this task. Students chose a painting and created their own narrative to present to an audience. Painting was the topic chosen because it is also a visual art that is studied during the semester.
Photograph of Viseu	Each group of students had to take a photo of a subject they believed best represented the city of Viseu for potential tourists. They were encouraged to decide on a subject that could illustrate multiple characteristics of the city, which in turn led them to take further photos to show this diversity. This allowed students to create and present their own narrative based on facts and their personal opinions of the city.
