Four interconnected themes relating to how compassion features in the care of people hospitalized with COVID-19. Theme 1 is about healthcare providers feeling safe. Theme 2 is about how people with COVID-19 suffer in isolation. Theme 3 is about compassionate care in different hospital settings. Theme 4 is about how compassion fatigue and burnout threaten compassionate care of people with COVID-19.
