Abstract

Phytochemical investigation of Juglans cathayensis Dode root barks led to the isolation of two novel nitrogen-containing naphthoquinones named juglonbutine (1) and binaphthine (2). Their structures were elucidated by the extensive analysis of the spectroscopic data. In addition, six known naphthoquinones (38) were also isolated from the same material for the first time.
