Abstract
The Geospatial Web is emerging in the geographical education landscape in all its complexity. How will geographers and educators react? What are the most important facets of this development? After reviewing the possible impacts on geographical education, it can be conjectured that the Geospatial Web will eventually replace the usual geographical information systems (GIS) and will form a wider platform, unifying geographical technologies, multimedia and telecommunications. It will thus offer an unprecedented opportunity to widen the scope of geographical education, so as to encompass virtually anyone, anywhere and at any time.
