Serdar M. Değirmencioğlu
Serdar M. Değirmencioğlu was a professor of psychology in Istanbul until he was fired in April 2016 for signing a peace petition. Forced into exile, he held visiting positions in Egypt, Italy, Belgium, and Germany. One of his ground-breaking books focuses on martyrdom and militarism in Turkey. He has served as president of the European Community Psychology Association and the Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict & Violence (Peace Psychology).
