Synthesis of Azine- and Hydrazone-Based Triarylmethanes

Abstract

Firstly, a series of new formylated-triarylmethanes (FTRAMs) were synthesized via the Friedel–Crafts reaction of arenes with terephthalaldehyde or isophthalaldehyde in the presence of silica sulfuric acid (SSA) under solvent-free conditions. Secondly, a series of new azines and hydrazones derivatives of formylated-triarylmethanes were synthesized in good yields. The structures of all the compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and Citation13C NMR spectroscopy.
