Abstract
A series of oximinoethers of indanone/aryloxy indanone were synthesized and screened for its in vitro antileishmanial activity profile (in promastigote and amastigote models) against Leishmania donovani, the causative agent of leishmaniasis. Compounds 3a–d, 4a–d, 5a, 5b, 6a–d & 7a–d have shown 87–100% inhibition against promastigotes and 47–100% inhibition against amastigotes at a concentration of 05 μg/ml. compounds 3a, 4a–b, 6b–c, 7a–d and 4b, 4d, 6c–d exhibited 100% inhibition against promastigotes and amastigotes respectively.
