Abstract
The interaction of aromatic azomethins with methyldichlorosilane, phenyldichlorosilane, and dimethylchlorosilane has been investigated in the presence of a Speier catalyst, a Wilkinson catalyst, a Karsted catalyst, and a range of LL'PtCl 2 complexes. The reaction yielded the products of hydrosilylation and reduction as identified by 1 H NMR. The ratio of hydrosilylation/reduction products depends of the catalyst used. The higher yield of hydrosilylation products was observed with using Pt(II) complexes as a catalyst.
