Abstract

2-Trimethylsilyl-1,3-thiaselenolanes and 2-trimethylsilyl-1,3-oxaselenolanes can be accessed through the reaction of a silyl acetal with β-mercapto- and β-hydroxyselenols under Lewis acid conditions.
