A simple and efficient one-pot route for the synthesis of 7-aryl-1,7a-dimethyl-2-phenyl-5-selenoxo-1,2,5,7a-tetrahydro-3H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-3-ones

Abstract

The reaction between 4-amino-2,3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-3-pyrazolin-5-one and acyl chloride in the presence of potassium selenocyanate at room temperature provided a simple and efficient one-pot route for the synthesis of eight 7-aryl-1,7a-dimethyl-2-phenyl-5-selenoxo-1,2,5,7a-tetrahydro-3H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-3-ones in good yields and in acetone at room temperature.
