Abstract
Uniform and well-dispersive orthorhombic phase YF3 nanorods have been successfully prepared via a facile incubation route employing yttrium nitrate and ammonium fluoride as raw materials. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Results demonstrate that the rods are about 1.0 µm in length and 230 nm in width. Furthermore, the rods are built from numerous nanoparticles. Eu3+ doped YF3 nanorods were also prepared and their photoluminescence properties have been investigated.
