Abstract
A fluctuation enthalpy variance based model has been tested on an isothermal supersonic flat plate in order to investigate the mechanism of heat transfer. The analysis shows that most of the thermal corrections were located in the low-Reynolds region (e.g. y + < 200). In the present paper, we propose an alternative approach where the correction is added only in the low-Reynolds region keeping the classical modeling unchanged for the main part of the domain. This method is included in the development of wall functions and two-layer approaches.
