Abstract
The systems of thought operating in the Philosophy of Communication Division of the International Communication Association are explicated. Kant's philosophy of logic is used to define the analytic/synthetic distinction as the metaphysical foundation of Modernity. The methodological ground of Postmodernity is a critique of positivism using Kant's logic and C. S. Peirce's semiotic phenomenology of Abduction, Deduction, Induction, and Adduction. The analysis deals the philosophical ground for the Human Science of Communicology.
