James J. Wirtz
James J. Wirtz is a professor of national security affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California. He previously served as chairman of the Department of National Security Affairs and dean of the School of International Graduate Studies at NPS. He is co-editor of the Oxford University Press textbook Strategy in the Contemporary World, which is in its seventh edition. In 2016, he received a Distinguished Scholar Award from the International Studies Association.
