The Parenting Subgroup of SGRCE would like to thank its colleagues in the Racial Socialization and Ethnic Identity Subgroup within the Study Group who have shared the mission of pushing forward the science of culture and ethnicity and have worked alongside us: Diane Hughes, Deborah Johnson, James Rodriguez, Emilie Phillips Smith, Paul Spicer, and Howard Stevenson. We thank three scholars who saw the potential in the Study Group and who provided a platform that nurtured its initial organizing and early work: Linda Burton, Ana Mari Cauce, and Mark Appelbaum, leaders of the Family Research Consortium III. We thank Mark Appelbaum and Xiaojia Ge for their quantitative consultation on this methodological collaboration—via phone consultation, commentary on written proposals, and serving as discussants at the Tufts conference at which this approach was unveiled. We also thank Ana Mari Cauce for her insightful commentary at the end of this issue in which she discusses the significance of this work and places it in the context of the field. Other scholars have provided important and potent advice regarding this project: Diane Scott-Jones, Melvin Wilson, and Vivian Gadsden. We gratefully acknowledge the incredible service performed by the reviewers of this special issue; given its structure in which all the papers are linked, the reviewers faced the unusual task of reviewing the entire special issue. We also deeply appreciate the enthusiasm with which Richard Lerner invited us to submit our work for publication in Applied Developmental Science. Finally, we thank funders who have supported this group's work at some point since its inception: the William T. Grant Foundation, the National Institute of Mental Health, the Kellogg Foundation (P0078651), the National Science Foundation (#0346405), and institutions that have hosted or supported the group's work: Duke University, Pennsylvania State University, Tufts University, and Michigan State University.
