Abstract

Eupatorium adenophorum(EA) is a kind of global toxic weed. It was converted into activated carbon (EAAC) for desulfurization of model gasoline. The results showed that under the optimum conditions, the yield of EAAC was 22.84%, specific surface area was 932.1 m2/g. When the adsorption lasted for 4 h at 303 K, the sulfur content of model gasoline decreased from 500 ug/g to 7.2 ug/g, the desulfurization rate was 98.56%. These results indicated that high efficient desulfurization activated carbon can be prepared from EA.
