Abstract
Pure, well-characterized, polysaccharide-degrading enzymes are highly desirable for the study of plant cell walls, but until recently have been tedious to prepare. We have expressed polysaccharide-degrading enzymes from fungi in Pichia pastoris, from which they can be purified very easily, and have partially characterized their modes of action.
