Enhanced heuristic algorithm-based energy-aware resource optimization for cooperative IoT

Abstract

This paper develops an intelligent resource optimization model in cooperative IoT. For this criterion, optimal power allocation and optimal relay selection are the two main objective functions. An improved meta-heuristic algorithm called Fitness Adaptive-Bird Swarm Algorithm (FA-BSA) is used for optimal power allocation and optimal relay selection. The experiment is done for cooperative multi-hop network topology. The optimal resource allocation is done by minimizing the total transmit power, and optimal relay selection is performed by satisfying the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. Hence, the achievement of the energy-efficient protocol is successful. The simulation results have proved the competitive performance of the proposed model by comparing it with the conventional models in terms of throughput and energy efficiency.

Md. Mobin Akhtar is Senior Lecturer of Computer Science and mathematics at Riyadh Elm University (REU) Saudi Arabia with over 10 years of experience in Teaching. Before joining REU in Sep. 2019, he served Shaqra University as a Lecturer of Computer Science from August. 2009 to Sep. 2018, MD Mobin Akhtar received his Master degree, M.Sc.Tech (IMCA), from JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA, NEW DELHI in 2008, and PhD degree in Computer Science from pacific university Udaipur, Rajasthan in JAN. 2019. His current research interests span over the areas of Online Information System Development, Big Data, Data Mining and Security, Text Mining, Social Network Analysis, and Extract, transform, load. Danish Ahamad has received his Master of Computer Application (MCA) from Shobhit University, Meerut, India in 2006 with distinction marks. He has done his B.Sc. 2003 from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, India. Abdallah Saleh Ali Shatat

Abdallah Saleh Ali Shatat currently working as a programme leader of the Bachelor in Management Information Systems programme and Assistant Professor in the MIS department at the college of administrative sciences in Applied Science University, Bahrain. Dr. Shatat worked as an assistant professor, in public and privet Universities in the Kingdom of Jordan for around 10 years. He has a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Information Science & Technology at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), an MSc in ICT (Management Information Systems) from Northern University of Malaysia (UUM), and a B.A (Financial Management) from Hashemite University. He has published numerous research papers, all the publication in repeatable journals.

Alameen Eltoum M. Abdalrahman is Assistant Professor of Information systems at Jouf University Saudi Arabia with over 12 years of experience in Teaching. Before joining Jouf University in Sep. 2016, he served Alneelain University as a Lecturer of Information systems from August. 2009 to Sep. 2013 & as Assitant professor october 2015 to 2016, and he he served King Khalid university (KSA) as a Lecturer of Information systems from August. 2013 to Sep. 2014 , Alasmarya university (Libya) as lecturer August. 2014 to Sep. 2015, Dr. Alameen Abdalrahman received his Master degree, M.Sc, from Alneelain University, Khartoum in 2009, and PhD degree in Information Systems from Alneelain university, October 2016.
