1. Throughout I will try to adhere to Allen’s identification of Housing Researchers (capitalized) as those who use “methods” and “theories” to engage in Housing Studies (also capitalized) while housing researcher (not capitalized) will refer to those who don’t use “methods” to engage in the more highly theoretized housing studies (not capitalized). It is a clumsy distinction but the one he chose so I will run with it. It appears towards the end of the “fallacy” article that the separation confuses Allen too (see for example several instances of confusion on pages 72–73) so I share that rhetorical hazard with the originator.
