Anwar Mhajne is an Israeli-Palestinian. She received her MA from the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at University of Cincinnati and is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Science there. Her current research deals with women's political participation in the Egyptian uprisings and the deployment of feminine identities as a way for some Egyptian women to gain legitimacy in the public sphere of the revolution. Other research areas of interest include feminist security studies, feminist international relations and the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
