Henri Myrttinen holds a doctorate in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, focusing on masculinities and urban violence in Timor-Leste. He is now Head of the Gender Team at International Alert, conducting research and advocacy in Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Central and Eastern Europe.

Aisling Swaine is Associate Professor of Practice of International Affairs at the George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs. She holds a doctorate from the Transitional Justice Institute, Ulster University, focusing on violence against women in armed conflicts. She has also worked in humanitarian organizations globally and served as a consultant to a variety of non-governmental organizations and United Nations bodies.
