Marta Kowalewska

Marta Kowalewska is an art historian, curator for contemporary art exhibitions, academic teacher, and Chief Curator in Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź. She is co-editor of various publications and contributor to the book From Tapestry to Fiber Art: The Lausanne Biennials 1962‒1995. She has authored numerous critical texts published in professional magazines and catalogs of exhibitions and a series of interviews with prominent Polish artists. She was curator of exhibitions in CMWL inter alia “Rebellion of the matter” (on 15 editions of International Textile Triennial), Metamorphism—Magdalena Abakanowicz solo show and exhibitions in the Academy of Art Łódź. She was also an academic consultant to the exhibition “Splendor of Textile” in the Zachȩta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw (and co-editor of the catalogs). Michał Jachuła

Michał Jachuła is a curator and art historian. He graduated in Art History from University of Warsaw and received his MA in contemporary art from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College. He currently works as a curator at Zachȩta - National Gallery of Art in Warsaw. Between 2004 and 2006 he worked in the International Exhibition Program at the CCA Ujazdowski Castle (collaboration in selected shows: Touch My Shadows, New Media from the Goetz Collection, Anri Sala, Jewish Identity in Contemporary Architecture). Between 2010-2013 he was Curator at Galeria Arsenał, Białystok where he organized many exhibitions. Other curated exhibitions include the prestigious “Splendour of Textile” at Zachȩta Narodowa Galeria Sztuki, Warsaw in 2013.

Irena Huml

Irena Huml was born in Warsaw in 1928, and died in Warsaw in 2015. She was an historian of art, critic, and teacher. She graduated from the Institute of Art History, University of Warsaw, in 1957. From the offset of her career, she was affiliated with the Institute of Polish Art, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw. She conducted pioneering research on applied arts ranging from the turn of the 20th century to contemporary art, granting the discipline a new prominent position in the history of art.
