Three new 8,4′-type oxyneolignans from the seeds of Ziziphus jujuba mill and their antitumor studies

Abstract

Ziziphus jujuba Mill. is a deciduous shrub, belonging to the Rhamnaceae family. Phytochemical investigation of Z. jujuba seeds showed the presence of three undescribed 8,4′-type oxyneolignans (1-3). Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses. All isolated compounds were tested for antitumor activity against two human hepatoma cells (Hep3B and HepG2) and exhibited moderate cytotoxicity (IC₅₀: 33.79-49.62 µM).
