From Tacoma, Washington State, Dean Anthony Brink teaches comparative literature and creative writing at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. Recent poems have appeared in Atlas Poetica, Cordite Poetry Review, Nimrod, and the Portland Review (online). His speculative fiction has been published in Helios Quarterly Magazine (‘The Migration’), the speculative fiction anthology Incarceration (‘The San Francisco Fun House’), and the Like a Woman anthology (‘DearDeparted®’). He has just published a monograph, Japanese Poetry and Its Publics: From Colonial Taiwan to Fukushima (Routledge, 2018) and is currently working on posthuman studies of John Ashbery, Amiri Baraka, Hung Hung, and the place of modern physics in the Kyoto School.
