Abstract
Hospital librarians manage and deliver timely medical/nursing/allied health evidence-based information to the hospital staff and health care consumers on a daily basis. A group of librarians and a nurse educator in New England have reached out to nurses by creating a play that demonstrates how nurses can use hospital libraries to incorporate evidence into nursing practice. This play takes on a very important topic in nursing—‘lateral violence.’ This unique teaching tool has partnered the authors and the participants (the cast) in ways that could not happen in the everyday hospital routine. Audience reaction during its 12 performances has been nothing but positive. The interaction of nursing staff and library services is the basis of change, because the evidence that is discovered becomes the catalyst for improvement.
